St. Andrew's Hospital, north west side of Clay Street, Suffolk, Virginia was a Private Hospital which I know was there in 1913 according to several news stories. My sister, Dolly Bell Watson, later Carr, was born here in 1931. I wonder if it is still there?

I live three doors up the street toward Washington, and the hospital lot has been a parking lot paved in asphalt since I purchased my house in 2008, and I believe it has been that way for some time before that. I think the hospital was turned into apartments years before it was torn down.
ReplyDeleteI grew up three blocks from it on Chestnut street during the 1960s, early 70s till we later moved to Brewer ave in 74. If memory serves me I recall that it burned
ReplyDeletein or around 1966. I think the remainder was made into a parking lot.
